Our Core Beliefs
- Beloit is only as successful as our ability to prepare children for life after high school. Our community cannot grow and thrive until we close the opportunity gap that divides young adults in our community from the workforce.
- We must make student success the primary factor in every decision we make about public education.
- We must work together to create more and better school options for parents. This must be a community-wide effort.
- Beloit needs exceptional educators to serve students well. All education stakeholders must be part of a strategy to recruit and retain exceptional talent.
- Families and communities must be the loudest voice in this discussion. We need to understand what parents need and want for their children.

Our Story
Beloit 200, a group of local business and civic leaders, launched and incubated the Kids First Beloit initiative to ensure that Beloit can provide all 7,000 students in our community access to a high-quality school now and in the future.
These leaders recognized that the future of our city and their businesses is directly linked to the future of Beloit’s schools. Not only must all of Beloit’s children have access to an exceptional public school now, these leaders saw the need to create public schools that will attract and retain new families to support the needs of our workforce and to help our community grow and thrive into the future. Kids First Beloit is a 501(c)3 led and funded by leaders who are committed to the Beloit community.
The Beloit Community must think about public education differently. We need to support and improve the Beloit School District. We need to embrace new quality choices. We must remember that public education is an investment in our children – Beloit children need more – more quality – more choice – more opportunity.
